Bay of Quinte

Bay of Quinte Water Quality Assessment.

Bay of Quinte TP Model Evaluation

This project assesses the effectiveness of an existing total phosphorus (TP) model for the Bay of Quinte. We’re testing if the model’s settings and data accurately reflect current conditions to help evaluate nutrient loading scenarios and guide water quality improvements.

Project Description:

While working on this project we focused on evaluating an existing simple mass-balance total phosphorus (TP) model to assess different nutrient loading scenarios in the Bay of Quinte, Ontario. Our study specifically investigates if the model’s parameters and the data used for loading are accurately defined and still relevant to the current conditions in the Bay of Quinte and its surrounding drainage areas. The goal was to ensure the model can reliably inform strategies for managing nutrient levels and improving water quality.
